As members of the Rotary Club to End Human Trafficking, we know that lasting prevention begins with informed, connected and empowered people across the globe. One of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen that work is by learning more about the full Rotary family and especially the young leaders who carry Rotary’s values into communities around the world. Rotary is more than a network of service clubs.
It is a global movement that brings together people of different ages, cultures, professions and perspectives to create positive change. Through local projects, international partnerships, exchanges, leadership development and advocacy, Rotary gives people practical ways to serve and to build a more just world.

Rotary is more than a network of service clubs.

Through local projects, international partnerships, exchanges, leadership development and advocacy, Rotary gives people practical ways to serve and to build a more just world.
A vital part of that family is Rotaract. Rotaract clubs bring together young adults typically ages 18 and up to develop leadership skills, build friendships across borders, and design hands-on service projects. Rotaractors are not simply Rotary’s future; they are Rotary’s leaders today. Their energy, creativity, digital fluency, and commitment to social justice are essential in confronting complex challenges such as human trafficking.
My own first exposure to Rotary came as a Rotaractor in Rome, Italy, as a member of the Rotaract Club Roma Centenario. That experience showed me how service can transcend language, nationality and background. It also taught me that young people, when given meaningful opportunities to lead, can turn concern into action. Human trafficking thrives where vulnerability, isolation, misinformation and exploitation are allowed to grow.
Rotary and Rotaract can help counter those conditions: by educating communities, supporting survivors, creating pathways to opportunity, and helping young people recognize and resist exploitation. I encourage every member to learn more about Rotary’s youth-focused programs, connect with a local Rotaract club and invite young leaders into our anti-trafficking work. Together, across generations, we can build communities where every person is seen, valued and free.
